Dr. Mesa and his hand-selected team members are exceptionally helpful. They will assist you in planning every facet of your journey, whether you are coming to New York, New Jersey, or Miami. You may want to consider bringing one of your family members with you to help you in the early stages of recovery. However, if this is impossible and you need help, we have local resources that can provide this assistance. We will work closely with you to ensure you are cared for throughout your journey.
The process of planning plastic surgery from a different state or country involves several steps, including:
The first step is to contact one of Dr. Mesa’s offices via phone, email, or a social media direct message. During that initial contact, you will talk to one of the patient coordinators about the procedure. She will ask you to submit your photos so that Dr. Mesa can evaluate them before you schedule your virtual consultation.

You will meet Dr. Mesa on a virtual consultation via Google Duo video call (a free app compatible with PC with webcam, Mac, iPhone, or Android smartphone). During the call, Dr. Mesa will determine if you are a good candidate for the procedures you are interested in. He will discuss with you all the details about the procedure as well as recovery.
Once you have decided to undergo surgery with Dr. Mesa, a non-refundable surgery deposit is required to reserve your surgery date. The remaining balance will be paid two weeks prior your procedure date.

We have access to the most private, comfortable hotels, and we can advise you where to stay. Your procedure will determine the length of your visit, and you may be able to return home within a day or two. You may also require a longer stay. We are very familiar with all of the details, and can discuss them with you in a virtual consultation or by phone.
For certain procedures performed under local anesthesia such as buccal fat removal and chin liposuction, patients may fly in the morning of the procedure and flight out the same day, either on a late afternoon or evening flight.
For other procedures such as facelift, neck lift, etc., you must arrive one or two days prior to the surgery date. The date of the return flight will depend on the recommendations of Dr. Mesa for your specific procedure.
After a surgical procedure, you will have a follow-up appointment (either virtual or in person) to ensure that everything is proceeding as it should. If you are required to recover nearby for few days, we will arrange transportation to our offices from your hotel. We are always available should you have any questions or concerns, and we take great pride in providing superior patient service to our patients who come from afar.
